On December 31, 2021, Officers responded to 1013 Maggies Ave NE. Friends were reporting that the victim appeared to be unconscious through a window. Upon arrival, officers gained entry and confirmed the victim to be deceased. Statements from the friends while on scene as well as not being able to determine a possible cause of death on scene, the call was cleared with as a possible overdose. On January 1, 2022, OMI thoroughly examined the victim and discovered through a large amount of hair that the victim had suffered a gunshot wound through head area. APD then initiated a homicide call out at the scene. The victim was identified as Nicholas Turrietta.
