2022 Minimum Wage
The 2022 minimum wage required to be paid from Jan. 1, 2022, through Dec. 31, 2022:
- Starting Jan. 1, 2022, the minimum wage will be $11.50.
- Starting January 1, 2022, the minimum wage will be $11.50 if the employee’s employer provides healthcare and/or childcare benefits to the employee during any pay period and the employer pays an amount for these benefits equal to or in excess of an annualized cost of $2,500.00.
- Starting Jan. 1, 2022, the minimum wage for tipped employees will be $6.90.

*Beginning January 1, 2022, pursuant to Section 50-4-22 A (3) of the Minimum Wage Act, NMSA 1978, as amended, the State of New Mexico minimum wage rate increases to $11.50 per hour. The City of Albuquerque Minimum Wage Ordinance's annual wage rate adjustment must therefore comply with this higher state-mandated rate of $11.50 per hour.
