Officers were dispatched to a shooting that occurred during a largely attended illegal street racing event in a sparsely populated area. Daniel Garcia was found deceased from multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses stated an altercation proceeded the shooting, and it is likely that witnesses took cell phone video or photos of this event, or have information that could aid in identifying the person or persons who fired guns that evening.

Family Story
When Daniel was killed it dropped me to my knees. Trying to come to terms with the enormous loss and sorrow has been difficult for me and my family. What I, Daniel’s mom, miss the most about him is him simply not being here.
He was always around at home or close by when I needed him. Daniel took me to all my appointments or we would just hang out. He loved being outdoors. He was an awesome son, father and brother, and a really good man, with a heart of gold.
I miss him every day but the holidays and birthdays are extra hard. My Daniel had a “Big Heart” because he is loved by so many people and he just like to live life. He loved to race his car any chance he had.
If I could share one more moment with him, I would tell him how much I love him and that he was an awesome son with a very big heart. I would thank him for being him. He always made me feel safe and I couldn’t have asked for a better son.
