OT Portal 2

When you visit Old Town, you are bound to notice the street of the plaza lined with vendors. These vendors are a part of the Old Town Portal Market. The Market serves as an outlet for local artisans to sell their handmade jewelry. Turquoise, a popular New Mexican gem, is in no shortage and can be found incorporated in bracelets, earrings, and necklaces alike. If you're looking for a place to buy authentic, handcrafted jewelry of the Southwest, the Old Town Portal Market is the place to be.

Become a Part of the Portal Market

Are you a local artisan interested in joining the Albuquerque Old Town Portal Market? We are happy to accept application from vendors of all backgrounds, something that makes our Portal Market unique from other Portal Markets around the state.

Applying to the Portal Market

To become a part of the Portal Market, you must submit an application for an Old Town Solicitations permit in order to be eligible to participate in the issuance of permits for the H-1 Historic Old Town Zone on a one-year basis (ending June 30 of each year.) You are welcome to apply at any time during the year, at which point you could either be accepted into the program, if there are less than 50 active craft units in operation, or put on a waiting list if the program is full when you apply.

Find out more about the program and how to apply. The Old Town Portal Market Application is available here.
