About the Southeast Area

The Southeast Area is bordered by Interstate 40 to the north, Eubank Boulevard to the east, Kirtland Air Force Base and Albuquerque city limits to the south, and Interstate 25 to the west.

Meet the Commander

Cmdr. Donovan Olvera

The Southeast Area Command is overseen by Commander Johnny Yara.

Commander Johnny Yara started his career with the Albuquerque Police Department in 2002. During his time with APD, he has served a majority of his career working in the Southeast Area Command Field Service Bureau as a Field Training Officer and a Crisis Intervention Officer.
