Swim, Water Polo, & Dive Teams

Children ages 5-14 can join the Metro Aquatic League, a swimming, diving, and water polo league organized by the City of Albuquerque. However, children must be at least 8 years old to participate in diving and/or water polo.

Participation involves:

  • Practices Monday - Friday
  • Water Polo Scrimmages Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • Dive Meets Fridays
  • Swim Meets Saturdays.

The cost for the summer metro league is $55 and each additional child in the family is $40. This price includes daily practice and swim meets on Saturdays (includes swimming, Water Polo, and Diving).

When registering your child for the metro league, you will be asked to agree to a Parent Code of Conduct . Each pool has a limit of 100 participants for swimming, 50 participants for water polo, and 10 participants for diving per team. Each participant must register for each sport (swimming, water polo, and diving) for the summer. If your child is only signed up for one sport, they can only participate in the practice for that sport. 

Example: I see that the Sierra Vista pool does not have any openings for swimming but does have openings for water polo and diving. If I sign up my child for just the Sierra Vista water polo and diving, then my child will not be able to participate in the swimming portion of the metro league.

Fall Middle School Water Polo

Children ages 9-14 can join the Metro Fall Middle School Water Polo league organized by the City of Albuquerque. This program is a great opportunity for players to build on their skills they learned during the Summer Metro League. Through practices and games, players will continue to improve their water polo skills in a team environment.

Registration begins on August 1, 2026

The cost for the Fall Middle School league is $55 for each participant. This price includes two weekly practices and games on Saturdays. When registering your child for the Fall league, you will be asked to agree to a Parent Code of Conduct . Each pool has a limit of 30 participants, and every participant must be  registered for a team to be included on the team roster.
