Jan 11, 2020 02:00 PM to Feb 23, 2020 05:00 PM
Judith Weichsel Carr was an important member of the New Mexico arts community from the time she arrived here in the late 1960’s. She was an innovating force in modern tapestry weaving and fiber arts through her teaching, her exhibits, and her work with other artists and private students. While she and her beloved husband, TJ, raised their son, John, she received an M.A. in Counseling and was an integral part in the creation of Jewish Family Service. She traveled extensively and sought out artists in all media everywhere she went. She continued to explore fiber art and create beautiful and surprising work until the very end of her life.

Are you a thrill seeker? Do you take on any dare thrown your way? Do you want to provide free swimming lessons to a child in need? Well...we have a perfect way for you to start off the new year right! Take the plunge on January 18th, 2020 into the 50-degree waters of the outdoor slide pool at the West Mesa Aquatic Center. The pool has been specially prepared for your adventure. Have the option to jump into the deeper end, run into the pool on the beach side, or take on the challenge of going down one of the slides! This is a fundraising event for the Shanta Strong Swim fund. All of the event fees will go directly to the ONE Albuquerque Fund to help pay for swimming lesson scholarships. We will donate part of the proceeds to feed the Rio Grande Zoo polar bears and penguins!
