Climbing Wall
Push yourself to the limit as you attempt to conquer the incredible 25-foot massive rock. The climbing wall has easy, moderate, and hard routes that will challenge you to do your best.
This Climbing Wall learning experience introduces the sport of climbing, self-reliance, safety, team work, and trust with auto and manual belay systems for up to four climbers at once. The portable wall serves the following areas: Albuquerque, Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, Corrales, Rio Rancho, Kirtland Air Force Base, Isleta Pueblo, and Sandia Pueblo.

Event Requirements
The Climbing Wall is best utilized by schools, youth groups, or other learning organizations and can be used by private groups.
- The scheduled event must have at least 15 climbers participating.
- Users can not charge or profit financially from the use of the climbing wall.
- The Climbing Wall can not be used for private parties or events where funds are being collected for any cause. If you are considering using the climbing wall to attract people to a fund-raiser or any event that has a fee, the wall must be set up in an area where it is clear that there is no fee to climb.
Participant Requirements
Typically the wall is reserved for classes or groups of 20 to 30 climbers.
- All participants must be taller than 43 inches and weigh between 40 and 300 pounds.
- For groups, staff give a 10-minute safety and rules presentation to each group followed by 35 to 45 minutes of climbing time, for 2 to 3 climbs each participant.
- For individuals, staff help helmet and harness each participant and briefly go over rules and safety with each individual. Participants are helmeted and harnessed a maximum of 3 times each to ensure everyone gets a chance to climb.

- We can schedule 1 year out, to the day.

Set Up Requirements
For safety reasons, you must meet all of the space and set up requirements.
The Climbing Wall requires a flat area, approximately 30ftx60ft, large enough for a pickup truck with a 30ft. trailer, and has room to block off a perimeter around the actual climbing area. This amount of space does not factor in room for participants lining up. Easy in and out access of the truck and trailer is appreciated when considering where to set up. If there is anything else we should know about the site, such as curbs, gates, or earliest access, please let us know.
- We are not able to drive over curbs.
- We are not able to park on the grass area of a City park.
- If you are using a parking lot, make sure the area is blocked off in some way to prevent car traffic. The length needed in a parking lot usually equates to 8 parking spaces.
- We prefer not to set up in grass, but we can if that is the only area available. We cannot set up on wet or damp grass. Mark all sprinkler heads with cones or flags. Outdoor Adventure will not be responsible for any damaged sprinkler heads.
- Be sure there are no no low wires or tree branches in the access and set up areas.
- If you are considering using the climbing wall to attract people to a fund-raiser or any event that has a fee, the wall must be set up in an area where it is clear that there is no fee to climb.
