Albuquerque has dozens of public pickleball courts for everyone's enjoyment. The warm weather makes Albuquerque an ideal place for a game of singles or doubles.

What is Pickleball?

Pickleball is a fun sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis.

It can be played both indoors or outdoors, on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net.

Pickleball is played with a paddle and a plastic ball with holes and can be played as doubles or singles.

Pickleball Complexes

The City of Albuquerque has two dedicated pickleball complexes: Manzano Mesa Pickleball Complex, and Villela Pickleball Courts.

Both complexes are open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Availability & Reservations: Pickleball Complexes

Courts are typically available on a first come, first serve basis and play is limited to 1 1/2 hours when others are waiting.

All reservations of pickleball courts and complexes for special events & tournaments are conducted through the City of Albuquerque's Parks & Recreation Sports Office.

Groups hosting non-City sponsored tournaments will need to have a Facility Use Agreement on file yearly with the City Sports Office. Liability Insurance also is required.

Pickleball Lessons

Fall 2021 pickleball lessons will take place at the Manzano Mesa Pickleball Complex. Residents can register for one of three sessions, which consist of 6 lessons over a six-week period. Lessons will be offered for beginner, and intermediate levels for ages 5 and up. Class sizes will be limited to six students per class, so residents are encouraged to register early to ensure their spot in the class. Registration is available Monday, August 16,  online at or in person at the Jerry Cline Tennis Center located at 7205 Constitution Ave. NE. Lessons are $40 for juniors and $50 for adults per six-week session 6 lessons).

      • Dates: 9/11 – 10/30 (6 lessons total, NO lessons on 10/9 & 10/23)
      • Times: 9am, 10am, 11am (50 minutes each)
