2026 Polar Plunge!

Despite a chilly early morning and freezing water temps, scores of brave swimmers of all ages turned out to "take the plunge" at Sierra Vista Pool on Saturday, January 3, 2026 - including two Albuquerque City Councilors - District 8 Councilor Dan Champine and District 9 Councilor Renée Grout!

The annual frigid fun event benefits the Shanta Strong Swim Fund which provides free swim lessons for children.
