Description
The first day will take place at SHRED at Balloon Fiesta Park. Participants will learn and refine mountain biking skills in the morning before heading indoors for a fix-a-flat clinic.
The second day is planned to be on a trail in the east mountains where participants can put their new skills and experience to the test. Afterwards we'll head to Esperanza McKinley to learn more about basic bike mechanics and do some bike crafts! Trail location may change based on weather or closures.
General Eligibility:
• Must be ages 11-14
• Must be able to ride a bike
• Must be prepared for strenuous adventure activities that will test mental and physical fortitude
• Must come prepared with necessary personal equipment
Hazards of Adventure:
As with all sports, adventure sports have risks and hazards. Remember: In adventure sports you can do everything right and still get injured. All attempts to minimize the inherent hazards associated with adventure sports are made through staff training and education, as well as diligent attention to safety rules during the adventures.
Your participation in this program indicates your assumption of the risk of serious injury or death as a result of the risks associated with mountain biking. Participation in this program is an acknowledgement of your responsibility for your own safety.
Personal Equipment that participant must supply:
• Sack lunch
• Snacks
• Sunscreen
• Daypack
Provided Equipment: Mountain Bike, bike water bottle, and helmet
No personal bikes or helmets can be used.
