About Us

Esperanza means hope. Our core goal is to work towards making Albuquerque better by promoting bicycle education, access, and transportation. By engaging with the community, we hope to show people, of all backgrounds, abilities, and ages, that bicycling can be a safe, healthy, dependable, inexpensive, and fun way to get around for a lifetime.

Esperanza is an education center. We’re committed to teaching people how to work on their own bikes by providing them with the resources they need. To meet our goal, Esperanza provides classes and programs of varied types and topics, including bicycle safety, road use and traffic law, mechanics, and riding skills.

Donations

Donations of bicycles, bike parts, tools, bike clothes, and other bicycle related products are always welcome. All of the bikes used in our programs are refurbished bikes that have been graciously donated to the shop from the community. Donations are accepted at both shop locations on Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon-7pm.
