The City of Albuquerque has dozens of public tennis courts for everyone's enjoyment. Our warm weather makes Albuquerque an ideal place for a game of singles or doubles, and lessons are available for all skill levels.

Whether you are a beginner or an old hand, make plans for some time on the court.

2013 Fall Lessons

Fall tennis lessons for juniors and adults will take place at the Jerry Cline Recreation and Tennis Facility and the Sierra Vista Tennis Center at the days and times listed below. Registration will begin on Thursday, August 1st (during normal business hours), and will continue through the fall. Not all skill and age levels are available every hour.

Adult Drop-In League

What is the Adult Drop-In League? It is an informal, friendly tennis league sponsored by the City of Albuquerque and run by the Jerry Cline Recreation and Tennis Facility and the Sierra Vista Tennis Center. One must have a minimum intermediate skill level to qualify, as determined by the Drop-In Coordinator. Juniors are generally not permitted, but an occasional exception may be made. The cost for all Drop-In sessions is $3 per person; tennis balls are provided.

Drop-In at the Jerry Cline Recreation and Tennis Facility

Morning Drop-In (Monday - Friday): players begin arriving before 8 a.m. Drop-in starts at 8 a.m. from June through September (at the beginning of October, start time is 9 a.m.) The last to arrive may have to begin with singles or the ball machine, or not get in at all, so arrive early to insure your spot. Players have a choice of playing one, two, or three rounds.

Evening Drop-In (Mondays and Wednesdays, 6 p.m.): The first round begins as players begin arriving before 6 p.m. to shortly after six. Players have the choice to play one round until 6:40 p.m., two rounds to 7:15 p.m., or three rounds until 8 p.m. Evening Drop-In is also on a first come first serve basis.

Sunday morning only: Start time is 8:30 a.m. (please arrive early to ensure a spot).

Ball Machine

Both the Jerry Cline Recreation and Tennis Center and the Sierra Vista Tennis Center have ball machine rentals. The cost is $8 per hour. It is best to call first to reserve your spot.
