2019 Westside Summerfest - ONE Abq Local

Saturday, August 17, 2019 | 5-10 p.m. | Ventana Ranch Community Park

This free family-friendly event features fun for everyone including an artisan market, microbrew garden, food trucks and live entertainment from local and national acts at a city park all under the summer sky. (View Map)

Westside Summerfest has moved around for eight years looking for its forever home and the new move to Ventana Ranch Community Park will hopefully be the final move. The neighborhood has been welcoming and excited for the event to be in the park.

Unfortunately, lead singer Mickey Thomas of Starship featuring Mickey Thomas, requires emergency surgery for a ruptured disc in his back. The Press Release has more details. We wish Thomas a swift recovery! 

Entertainment Schedule 

West Stage

  • 5 p.m. - Todd Tijerina Band

Enjoy the the stylings of Todd Tijerina (Tee-her-ee-na) Band as they infuse funk, rock and jazz elements into his blues sounds.

Bobcats Trio is comprised of jazz and blues veterans who play groovy tunes all over the Southwest.

Ray Anthony and PowerSlyde has delivered original contemporary funk and jazz sounds to Duke City since 2007.

Michael Moxey and the Easy Sinners are a group of local classic country, Americana, Western American music playing bandits who are ready for a fun, boot scootin’ good time. 

Ivon Ulibarri & Café Mocha is one of Albuquerque’s hottest salsa bands, brewing an exciting blend of son, cha-cha, merengue, cumbia , and other Latin styles from the Caribbean and beyond.

DK & The Affordables kick out a jiving, jumping variety of roots rock n' roll music that is intended to get you moving and inspire good will among the generations. 

Son Como Son bills itself as Salsa Cuban Style and is unquestionably one of Albuquerque’s longest-standing and most popular salsa ensembles.

¡Reviva! inspires audiences through their English and Spanish lyrics, unique sound, and positive vibes using their original Burquño/reggae/rock rhythms to reach the soul. 

Food & Drink

Grab a bite to eat from your choice of a variety of local food trucks. Adults 21 and over can unwind from the week in the Microbrew Garden with the best local brews, spirits and wines from local establishments such as Abbey Brewing Co., Bosque Brewing Co., Boxing Bear Brewing Co., Broken Trail Spirits, Hollow Spirits Distillery, La Cumbre Brewing Co., Left Turn Distillery, Marble Brewery, Red Door Brewing Co., Santa Fe Brewing Co.Sheehan Winery, Steel Bender Brewyard, The 377 Brewery, Toltec Brewing, Tractor Brewing Co., and Turtle Mountain Brewing Co. 

Artisan Market

Shop local! Browse through a variety of local handcrafted artisans ranging from pottery, housewares, and baked goods to clothing, body products and jewelry. There will be plenty to choose from and these local artisans have what you're looking for. 

Children's Activities

The kids' area is full of fun activities including free face painting, an inflatable bounce house, slides and games and a 25-foot rock climbing wall presented by the City of Albuquerque Parks & Recreation Department.

Getting There 

Ventana Ranch Community Park is less than a 10 minute drive from Coors and Paseo del Norte Blvd. Park address: 10000 Universe Blvd NW 87114 (View Map).


Free parking will be available at the CNM Westside Campus (View Map) and at Volcano Vista High School (View Map). Free shuttles will take event-goers to and from the park throughout the event. Sun Van shuttles are handicap accessible. Strollers, lawn chairs, canopies and coolers are allowed on shuttles. Glass items or alcohol are not permitted on shuttles. 

For easiest access, if you are coming from north Universe Blvd., park at CNM Westside Campus. Park at Volcano Vista High School if you are coming from south Universe Blvd.

If street parking is available in the surrounding area, please be sure to follow all parking laws. Parking is not available at the park. 

Bike Valet

Take advantage of the free Bike Valet provided by Esperanza Bicycle Education Center. Before hitting the trails, check out the bike routes throughout Albuquerque. (ABQ Bike Paths)

Event Specifics

Westside Summerfest is free to the public. Pets are welcome on leashes. Bring a picnic to the park. Glass items or alcohol are not permitted. This is a rain or shine event.
