Community Centers Mission
The mission of our Community Centers is to provide programs that meet community needs, enhance the quality of life and promote community involvement through the provision of recreation, cultural activities, education, health, wellness and fitness activities, as well as family life activities in facilities that are well maintained, accessible and safe.
The Community Recreation Division manages 22 Community Centers located throughout Albuquerque.
Community Center Programs
Besides the traditional recreational programs that take place at the centers, many new and innovative programs are now part of the services offered for children (from 5 through 15 years old, 5 year old's must turn must turn 6 by September 1, 2018), youth and adults at these facilities.

- Registration Dates: May 7 - May 11
- Center Closures: May 26 - June 9
- Summer Program Dates: June 11 - August 3
- Summer Program Hours: 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
Centers: Senior Meal Sites
Four Centers -- Cesar Chavez, Los Duranes, Taylor Ranch, and Thomas Bell -- serve as a senior meal site. Select community centers also are available for various types of rentals.
Community Center Features
Some of the components found in Community Centers include: gymnasiums, computer rooms, meeting rooms, kitchens, multipurpose activity rooms, weight and fitness rooms, preschool rooms, and restrooms with showers.
Outdoor amenities vary from center to center. They include: combinations of play equipment, athletic fields, multipurpose courts, and parks.
At-Risk After School Supper Meals Program
The Department of Family & Community Services sponsors the CACFP At-Risk After School Supper Meals Program in partnership with Bernalillo County to provide free hot and nutritious supper meals to youth enrolled in eligible After School programs throughout the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County.
