Description
One of Albuquerque's most popular holiday events, the Old Town Holiday Stroll, will take place throughout the Old Town area from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7.
At 6 p.m., visitors will gather at Plaza don Luis for the blessing and lighting of the giant holiday tree. Join San Felipe de Neri's Father Garcia and other dignitaries in the traditional lighting that marks the "official" beginning of the holiday season in Albuquerque.
American Heart Association
We are pleased to announce the Old Town Merchants have chosen the American Heart Association as the charity recipient of this year's stroll, so don't forget to get your merchant discount button available at the Heart Associations booth on the plaza.
Live Entertainment
At the Gazebo, live entertainment focused on holiday traditions from around the world, with colorfully costumed performers sharing their favorite traditions in many languages will be featured. The opportunity to "travel the world" by sharing in those traditions while experiencing the special treasure that is Albuquerque's Old Town is priceless. All children will not want to miss the opportunity to meet Santa at Santa's Village located on South San Felipe Street.
Luminarias
New Mexico's beautiful luminarias will light the streets and patios and the fire pit stages, will add warmth and the aroma of pine to the wonderful holiday atmosphere.
Public Transit
Visitors are encouraged to use public transportation, and with a Rapid Ride stop at the southeast corner of West Central Avenue and Rio Grande Boulevard, Old Town is accessible to all ages.
