Mid Range Planning Team

Learn more about the Mid Range Planning Team in the Urban Design & Development Division of the City of Albuquerque's Planning Department.

What We Do

Mid Range Planning helps implement projects identified during long-range Community Planning Area (CPA) Assessments and actions identified in the Comprehensive Plan. Mid Range planners serve as liaisons between the Planning Department and other City Departments or community organizations. In general, Mid Range planners help to advance the long-range vision for the City of Albuquerque and to enhance our city’s vitality for all communities.

How We Serve You

Mid Range Planners add capacity to other planning efforts and help implement the community vision in the Comprehensive Plan in partnership with other City Departments, residents, business owners, and community leaders.

The Mid Range Team organizes and hosts the annual City Leaders Academy, which provides training and capacity-building for community leaders around planning and zoning in Albuquerque.

Working with other City departments and partner agencies, Mid Range Planners review and analyze proposed plans, policies, and projects to ensure alignment with the Comprehensive Plan.

Additionally, Mid Range planners provide support and capacity to the Regulatory Planning Team during the annual updates to the Integrated Development Ordinance (IDO) by researching and reviewing recommended changes, as well as coordinating public engagement efforts.
