Description

The ABQ BioPark Zoo is celebrating two new murals near the Raptor Roost habitats with a day of learning about the diversity of species that we see here in New Mexico!

In our shared home, climate changes and environmental challenges facing the biggest bird of prey to the smallest hummingbird also affect us. A variety of Discovery Stations and activities will teach you about different birds found here, their roles in the ecosystem, and how each one of us can help them! You can learn about:

  • Hawks and eagles
  • Condors and vultures
  • Birds & climate change
  • Hummingbirds
  • How to make your own bird feeder
    • Take home your hand-made bird feeder and support wild birds around your home
  • How to get started in birdwatching
    • Our experts will introduce your family to a great new hobby! You can even help scientists collect data on wild bird populations during yearly events like the Great Backyard Bird Count with your newfound knowledge

Bring your best questions and leave with tons of fun facts and a better understanding of your feathered neighbors!
