What's New?

All of our facilities are open with special COVID-safe practices in place. The Zoo, Botanic Garden and Aquarium are open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily and Tingley Beach is open daily from sunrise until sunset.

Visitors Must Purchase Tickets Online in Advance

To minimize face-to-face contact, tickets for the Zoo, Botanic Garden and Aquarium must be purchased online in advance.

Timed Ticketing

The BioPark’s capacity is set in accordance with the current public health order. A limited number of timed tickets are available each day. Guests must reserve a date and a half-hour arrival time. Guests are welcome to stay as long as they like.

New Mexico BioPark Society members will continue to receive complimentary admission to the BioPark, but must now reserve a “ticket” online in order to visit. The ABQ BioPark does not offer refunds for guests who cannot attend their allotted time.

Rain Checks and Refunds

No rain checks or refunds. We encourage guests to check the weather forecast before purchasing tickets as there are NO refunds or rain checks for inclement weather unless the ABQ BioPark and the City of Albuquerque makes the decision to temporarily close for safety.

Safety Measures

  • Restrooms will be available and will be cleaned and sanitized frequently.
  • Masks are optional for fully vaccinated BioPark guests. If you are not fully vaccinated, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

  • Penguin Chill is closed from 1:30-2:30 p.m. daily for deep cleaning and animal care. The BUGarium is closed daily from 1:30-2 p.m. for cleaning.

  • Indoor facilities like the Aquarium, BUGarium, Desert Conservatory, reptile building and Penguin Chill have capacity limits and guests can expect longer waits to enter these buildings.

Dining and Shopping

Indoor dining at a limited capacity is available at the Shark Reef Café and Cottonwood Café.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles, as public water fountains are off.

Zoo Details

Zoo visitors are free to explore the Zoo. Indoor areas like the Penguin Chill and reptiles have capacity limits and you may have a short wait for entry.

Botanic Garden Details

The Botanic Garden is open. Select areas have one-way paths to ensure social distancing. Indoor areas like the BUGarium have capacity limits and you may have a short wait for entry. View a map of the Botanic Garden.

Prices for Botanic Garden-Only Ticket (this is a slight modification of the discount prices we offered in fall 2020)

  • The ABQ BioPark does not offer refunds.
  • Rain checks are not given due to weather. Be sure to check the weather and plan your trip accordingly
  • *The following qualifies as current proof of residency: current New Mexico driver's license or current utility bill in your name showing New Mexico address and a photo I.D.

Military Discount

Available to active and non-active personnel with military ID.

  • $2 off general admission tickets for adults
  • $1 off general admission tickets for youth ages 3-12

Field Trips, Group Ticket Sales, and Reciprocal Membership Discounts

Due to our reduced capacity and other health-related directives, we are currently unable to schedule Field Trips or offer reciprocal membership discounts and group ticket sales. These opportunities are planned to resume in the coming weeks and this site will be updated when they become available.
