Description
Bring your homeschoolers down to the BioPark’s Heritage Farm at the Botanic Garden to explore the roots of New Mexico's agriculture history.
Education staff will host our community’s homeschoolers and their families, where you’ll move between discovery stations around the farm. Meet heritage breed animals like Highland cattle, donkeys, goats, sheep, horses, and chickens during exclusive keeper chats and mini meet-and-greets. Learn about the apple pressing methods in our historic cider barn, plant seeds to take home, and discover the importance of native pollinators through activities. Kids can get messy in the mud play area, create crafts like a Highland cow from a toilet paper roll, and take a tour with our Heritage Farm staff. Don’t miss this special opportunity for your students to connect with nature, agriculture, and hands-on traditions at the Farm!
Online registration required in advance, price includes Botanic Garden and Aquarium admission. Appropriate for grades K-9.
Tickets are non-refundable. This event will take place rain or shine.
Registration opens at 1 pm on September 23, 2025.
