The Gentle Art of Wandering

Speaker: David Ryan, local author

This talk about being present and connected with nature will include many photos and examples of wandering and discovery in all sorts of environments, including Albuquerque.

Speaker David Ryan has lived in Albuquerque for 15 years. Wandering and exploring New Mexico's backcountry and urbanscapes inspired his book The Gentle Art of Wandering. Prior to moving to Albuquerque, Ryan hiked the Appalachian Trail from end-to-end. He is also the author of Long Distance Hiking on the Appalachian Trail for the Older Adventurer.

After the talk, make some new discoveries as you wander through the Botanic Garden's newest exhibit, The Cottonwood Gallery. (Admission required.)

Can't make it on Saturday? Join us for the same seminar on Thursday, October 3.

Brown Bag Seminars

Brown Bag lectures take place twice a month (on the first Thursday and Saturday), alternating between Aquarium/Garden and Zoo locations.
