The Albuquerque Police Department divides the city into six geographical areas called area commands. Each area command has a police substation where you may file a police report, request a copy of a police report, report abandoned or disabled vehicles and comment on our service.

The Albuquerque Fire Department, (AFD), as a covered portion of a hybrid entity and in accordance with the New Mexico Inspection of Public records Act, (Section 14-6-1 NMSA 1978), provides that the release of “all health information that relates to and identifies specific individuals as patients is strictly confidential and shall not be a matter of public record or accessible to the public even though the information is in the custody of or contained in the records of a governmental agency or its agent.”
Albuquerque Fire Department Records Management is responsible for providing the community with EMS and Fire Reports while ensuring that all reports released are in compliance with the Inspection of Public Records Act (NMSA 1978, Chapter 14 Article 2) as well as HIPAA rules, and confidentiality standards.
