City of Albuquerque community centers are available to the public for special events. The Department of Youth & Family Services offers a variety of facilities to suit your needs, including classrooms and multipurpose rooms for meetings, classes, activities, or private events. Gymnasiums can be rented for events or programs that are free and open to the public; however, private rentals are not available at this time

How to Make a Reservation
Reservations are finalized only after all fees, documents, and waivers are completed.
1. Register for or Update Community Center Pass
To use or rent a City of Albuquerque community center, you must have an updated Adult Community Center Pass. Passes are free and must be created or updated prior to submitting the Facility Usage/Rental Interest Form. Please create your account and update your pass before you fill out the interest form. Record the account number listed next to your last name for the online Facility Usage/Rental Interest Form.

2. Fill out an Online Request
Fill out the online Facility Usage/Rental Interest Form at least 14 business days prior to event. You will need your account number listed next to your last name from your play.cabq.gov account. Requests for a single day, one time reservation, or Special Event can be submitted up to 6 months prior to the requested reservation date. Requests are reviewed in the order received and availability is subject to change until the contract is finalized.
The purpose of the form is to request a community center reservation and does NOT guarantee the reservation. Please note, City of Albuquerque programming and annual special events take precedence to all requests.

3. Receive Confirmation
A Facility Manager will follow up with you to confirm or if there is a scheduling conflict. Approval varies by site and may take up to 14 business days.
4. Complete Waiver
To complete a waiver:
- Log into your play.cabq.gov account.
- Once signed in, navigate to the Facility Rentals page and click Step Two: Waiver
- Add the waiver to your cart and proceed to checkout. The waiver is free and completing it confirms your reservation.
5. Make Payment
Once confirmed, the Rental Coordinator will send you a contract or invoice. Follow the instructions on the contract/invoice to complete your reservation. All payments are required to be paid online via credit/debit card. Payment/Balance is due at least 10 business days prior to payment request. If the balance is unpaid after the due date listed on your contract, we reserve the right to release your reservation.
To make your payment:
- Log into your play.cabq.gov.
- Once signed in, view your shopping cart (it will say it is empty).
- Click pay old balances to find your updated balance.
- Find your balance and add it to your cart
- Proceed to checkout.
Cost
Room rental fees are based on the activity’s purpose and scale. Setup / decorating time must be included in the rental hours. Facility users are expected to respect the time limit of their reservation contract. Late exits may result in late fees or the cancellation of the activity/future activities.
- Category 1: Free
- One-time or recurring activities, events, or meetings
- Held by Public Interest, Governmental Entities (County, State, Federal), and Albuquerque Public Schools, and individuals
- Activities, events, or meetings are geared towards community constituents and do not involve political campaigning
- Are free and open to the public
- Examples: Neighborhood Association meetings and events, community support groups, public health/immunization clinics, AARP chapters, public town hall meetings, classes and activities, etc.
- Category 2: $7.50/room/hour
- One-time or recurring activities, events, or meetings
- Held by Public Interest, Governmental Entities (County, State, Federal), and Albuquerque Public Schools
- Activities, events and meetings are closed/not open to the public.
- Examples: HOA meetings, political/fundraising events, Toastmasters, etc.
- Category 3: $10/room/hour or $15/gym/hour plus a $25 non-refundable cleaning fee per semester for reoccurring activity or event.
- One-time or recurring activities, events, or meetings
- Open to the public and held by an individual or agency
- There is a fee charged to those who participate.
- Examples: Exercise, fitness, recreational, educational classes, etc.
- Category 4: $40/room/hour (under 50 individuals), $50/room/hour (50-99 individuals), $60/room/hour (100+ individuals)
- One-time large scale activities and events
- For exclusive/private use
- Held by individuals or for-profit organizations
- Examples: Baby showers, birthday parties, weddings, funeral receptions, etc.
The Rental Coordinator makes the final determination on which category an activity, meeting, or event is classified.

Facility Information
The room is arranged according to your specifications listed on the interest form. Please note that availability of tables and chairs may vary and are not guaranteed to what you requested. Availability depends on site, location, and usage. Please notify the Community Center one (1) week prior to your event to discuss/confirm room set up/ how many tables and chairs are needed. Facility team members will set up the tables and chairs prior to the start of your event.
You may visit any facility during operating hours to view the space. To schedule a personalized tour, contact the Facility Supervisor.
Amenities
What is Included?
Your facility usage or rental includes the use of the space requested and tables and chairs. All our facilities do have accessible parking, restrooms, and WIFI.
What can I Bring?
AV equipment, food, decorations, paper products, table cloths, or equipment that you would like to use for your event should be brought in separately.
Set up / decorating time must be included in the rental hours. All decorations / equipment must be removed by the group using the
facility immediately after the reservation period.
Use poster putty, removable blue painter’s tape or removable poster tape only on flat painted walls or tables.
Helium balloons MUST be secured with a weight, as loose balloons
set off the alarms.
What Can't I Bring?
Community Centers are alcohol, drug and smoke free environments.
Do not bring or use:
- Double-sided tape or Scotch tape or Command Brand type strips.
- Tape on the ceiling.
- Nails.
- Staples or tacks on flat painted walls or tables.
- Lit candles or open flame.
- Chalk.
- Red-dye (fruit punch).
- Glitter, rice, confetti, or birdseed.
Additional restrictions may be in place depending on the specification of individual community center spaces.
Event Stipulations
Semester Activities
Any requests to offer programs or activities from Categories 2 & 3 will be approved for a MAXIMUM of one semester and a MAXIMUM of 3 hours or less per session. Set up and clean up time must be built into the total time of each session.
Fitness, Exercise, Dance, or Weightlifting Activities
Commercial General Liability insurance of $1,000,000 listing the City of Albuquerque as additionally insured is required for users that are offering any type of fitness, exercise, dance, or weightlifting classes or activities. Private meetings/events do not require liability or molestation insurance.
Children Under the Age of 18
Facility users that have direct contact with children under the age of 18 or individuals in a fragile class will be required to provide the City of Albuquerque with proof of molestation insurance coverage that also lists the City of Albuquerque as additional insured. Private meetings/events do not require liability or molestation insurance.
Facility users that have direct contact with children under the age of 18 or individuals in a fragile class will be required to provide the City of Albuquerque access to conduct a current background check through TruView Background Screenings and Investigations. Documents will be emailed to you directly. Once we receive the results of your background check, you will be notified and we will proceed with the CABQ Facility Usage contract. Private meetings/events do not require background check.
Availability
Hours, locations, and availability depend on location. Facility usage and rentals are only allowed during the normal business hours of the community center. All City of Albuquerque Community Centers are closed Sundays. Select centers are open Saturdays from 9 am to 2:45 pm for rentals. City of Albuquerque programming and annual special events take precedence to all requests.

Due to Youth Programs, there is limited availability during the school year Monday through Friday from 2 to 6 pm and during June and July rentals are unavailable from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm due to CABQ.
Private team practice reservations are not offered at this time.

Maintenance Closure
Community Centers will be closed for cleaning, training, and maintenance from May 29, 2026 to June 13, 2026. They will reopen on Monday, June 15, 2026, for the summer season.
