Wiley Fun Awaits at the Balloon Museum's STEAM Night Event

Celebrate animation and cartooning during after-hours event for families at the museum
April 15, 2024

Get ready for an evening of curiosity and creativity as the Anderson Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum prepares to host a captivating STEAM Night on Saturday, April 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. This event promises an engaging exploration into the realms of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, all through the lens of animation and cartooning.

The Balloon Museum will present an immersive experience that celebrates the iconic characters of Looney Toons®, particularly the beloved Roadrunner and Coyote, who have been synonymous with the Balloon Fiesta® event since its inception. Visitors will hear the rich history and connection between these characters and the annual fiesta during a lecture by renowned expert John Davis. Guests will have the opportunity to view early original Balloon Fiesta® posters and even admire a signed Chuck Jones film cell, adding a touch of nostalgia to the evening's festivities.

A live demonstration by Bryan Steagall from KidzKorner Studio will offer a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the magic of bringing characters to life. Guests can get hands-on with make-and-take activities, where attendees can learn basic animation techniques and create their own masterpieces, as well as a chance to color a Roadrunner 3-D printed balloon pin, courtesy of Gravitex Enterprises.

Albuquerque's award-winning Indie Folk François duo, Bebe La La will perform and food options will be available for purchase from the Big Boss Hot Links food truck.
