Nob Hill Glows With the Twinkle Light Parade
Join 4,000 participants for a mile-long celebration of lights, music, and holiday cheer.
A beloved tradition, the City of Albuquerque’s annual Twinkle Light Parade will once again glow-up Nob Hill on Saturday, December 6, beginning at 5:15 p.m. This year’s dazzling display will feature 125 illuminated entries ranging from marching bands and community groups to fire trucks and show vehicles, all competing for the coveted Best in Show title.
“The Twinkle Light Parade is one of Albuquerque’s most cherished traditions,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “It’s a night when families, neighbors, and local groups come together to celebrate the season and light up our city with holiday spirit.”
Central Avenue from Washington to Girard will transform into a mile-long celebration of light and merriment. To enhance the festive atmosphere, Central will close to traffic at 3 p.m., allowing attendees to enjoy Nob Hill’s eclectic mix of shops, galleries, and restaurants before and after the event.
With the enthusiastic participation of more than 4,000 people representing local businesses, nonprofits, schools, community groups, and residents, this year’s parade promises to be the most radiant yet.
This free family-friendly event will take place rain or shine. For added convenience, UNM is offering a park-and-ride service with free parking available at the southwest corner of Lomas and University. Shuttle buses will run from 3 p.m. to Johnson Field and back, operating throughout the event until 10:30 p.m. Johnson Field is near Girard and the end of the parade route.
Transportation to the event is also available with a free ABQ RIDE bus service on Routes 766/777 and 66. Plan your route by using Transit App or Google Maps.
