Lindsay Ell Headlines Family Friendly Freedom 4th

Free event features the state's brightest fireworks show, food & drink, local performers, and more.

The City of Albuquerque's Freedom 4th returns to Balloon Fiesta Park for a fun filled day of entertainment and family friendly activities on Tuesday, July 4 from 3 to 10 p.m. Headlining the free event is Lindsay Ell who has become one of country music's most celebrated female voices with more than 250 million global career streams. The day will also feature local performers, free kids activities, and more.

Lindsay Ell has been lauded as “one of the most exciting and talented young artists” by Forbes. Ell has two Canadian #1 singles; a US #1 PLATINUM-status single alongside Brantley Gilbert; and in 2022 was celebrated for her incredible work as host of the return of Canada’s Got Talent.

A 2023 Canadian Screen Award nominee, Ell has also been nominated for ACM Awards (New Female Vocalist (2019); New Female Vocalist (2020); Music Event of the Year (2020); CMT Awards Social Superstar (2015); Collaborative Video of the Year (2019); CMA Awards (Musical Event of the Year (2019); JUNO Awards (Country Album of the Year (2021); and 18 CCMA Awards. Her GOLD single, "wAnt me back,") led to the execution of her first Canadian headlining tour and allowed her to share the stage with her childhood idol, Shania Twain, at Canada’s biggest outdoor country festival, Boots & Hearts.

Full entertainment schedule:

  • 4 p.m. – The Fabulous Martini-Tones - (surf-rock)
  • 5:15 p.m. – Austin Van - (country)
  • 6:30 p.m. – Divino - (Latin)
  • 7:30 p.m. – 4th of July ceremony featuring members of the New Mexico Gay Men’s Chorus and Albuquerque Fire Rescue Honor Guard
  • 7:45 p.m. – Lindsay Ell
  • 9:15 p.m. – Fireworks (weather permitting)

Throughout the evening, concert goers can grab a bite to eat from local food vendors offering treats ranging from burgers to ice cream. Local breweries, distilleries, and wineries will be onsite in The Cantina, where there will be a great view of the main stage. Free activities for kids include face painting, inflatable jump houses, and two climbing walls.

All parking at Balloon Fiesta Park is $10 cash only per vehicle upon arrival. Parking is $8 if prepaid by July 1. Prepay for parking at https://www.premiumparking.com/P4702. Park & Ride service provided by ABQ Ride will run from Cottonwood and Coronado malls to Balloon Fiesta Park from 3 to 7:30 p.m. Return trips to the two Park & Ride locations will begin immediately after the fireworks show. A Bike Valet will be provided by Esperanza Bicycle Education Center at the northeast side of the Balloon Museum.
