Libraries To Celebrate Día De Los Niños

Multicultural celebration features free events for children and families.
April 16, 2024

The Public Library of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County and the Friends of the Public Library will celebrate El Día de los Niños, a multicultural celebration of children and literacy, April 24 to April 30. Eighteen library branches will host special events for children and families featuring storytellers, crafts, music, and more. Children will be able to take home a book of their very own (while supplies last) after each event.

El Día de los Niños (Día) is a celebration of children, families, and reading. The celebration emphasizes the importance of literacy for all children from all backgrounds. It is a daily commitment to linking children and their families to diverse books, languages, and cultures. Día is an enhancement of Children’s Day, which began in 1925.
