Free Route 66 Centennial Concert Series Continues at Visitor Center Through May
Centennial Roots photography exhibition remains on view accompanied by murals, installations, and more.
As Albuquerque continues celebrating the Route 66 Centennial, the Department of Arts & Culture reminds the community that the free Centennial Concert Series, presented by the New Mexico Music Hall of Fame, is underway at the Route 66 Visitor Center.
Held every Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. through May 30, the outdoor concert series brings New Mexico Music Hall of Fame alumni to the amphitheater stage for live locally rooted performances, each featuring uniquely themed artists. Tractor Brewing and local food trucks are on site each Saturday.
Residents and visitors alike can enjoy live music ranging from traditional Spanish to throwback ‘60s and ‘70s in a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the spirit, creativity, and diversity of Route 66. The concert series is part of the city’s broader Route 66 Centennial programming, designed to celebrate Albuquerque’s place along this historic corridor while creating new opportunities for connection and cultural experiences.
The Route 66 Visitor Center now features updated murals, installations, and Route 66 Remixed art attractions, offering a dynamic backdrop for the weekly performances and ongoing programming.
“These concerts are an open invitation to gather, hear live music, and celebrate Route 66’s lasting impact on Albuquerque,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “It’s about honoring history while creating something meaningful for everyone today.”
In addition to the concert series, visitors can explore the Centennial Roots exhibition, which highlights contemporary perspectives on the landscapes, cultures, and stories shaped by Route 66 in New Mexico.
Ongoing events and programs throughout the year will continue to mark the centennial, reinforcing Albuquerque’s commitment to preserving and celebrating the historic corridor as a living, evolving part of the city’s cultural landscape.
