Enjoy a Day of Entertainment and Discovery During Mother’s Day at the Zoo

Treats for moms, discovery stations, and more planned for May 12.

Embark on a journey of discovery this Mother’s Day at the ABQ BioPark Zoo on Sunday, May 12. A day of live local music ranging from country to Caribbean is in store at seven areas throughout the Zoo beginning at 9 a.m. at the Flamingo Gazebo. Tickets are on sale now at https://artsandculture.cabq.gov/mom24.

Among the performers throughout the day are NM Marimba; Lasotras; Alma Trio; Flambeaux; Nueva Luna; North Valley Tune Tanglers; Watermelon Mountain Jug Band; Levi Dean and the Mesa Rats; Jaraneros De Valle; Coalesce Blue; Mariachi Xochitl; The Frank Leto Duo; Clark Andrew Libbey and Kristen Rad; Dos Gatos; Gilbert Uribe; The Real Matt Jones; Ryan Smith Cello Music; Handpan Dan; Acoustic Secret 7 Duo; Kyle Martin; D'santi Nava; and Trio Carrillo.

Visitors can venture through the Zoo and encounter a world of wonder at various Discovery Stations. BioPark volunteers will be stationed throughout the Zoo ready to share captivating insights into the intricate world of mothering strategies in the animal kingdom. From the tender care of western lowland gorilla mom Samantha to the adorable antics of Hanna’s joey in the Kangaroo/Emu Habitat, every corner holds a tale of maternal love and nurturing.

Dive deeper into the world of animal care and conservation with BioPark Connections. The Zoo’s dedicated educators and animal care staff will offer exclusive insights into efforts to protect and preserve wildlife and their habitats.

There will be a Bloody Mary Bar and loaded Mimosas for purchase for those 21+ and free face painting for those of all ages. The Cottonwood Café and a variety of snack bars will be open, but picnics are always welcome. Brunch options are also available for advance purchase from the Cottonwood Café at https://bioparkzoo.myncrsilver.com/.

Glass containers, alcohol, canopies, and sports equipment are prohibited. Pets are not allowed at the ABQ BioPark.
