Casa San Ysidro Announces New Season of Programs, Workshops and Festivals

Albuquerque Museum’s historic property showcases history, art, and culture in Corrales

March 30, 2026

Casa San Ysidro, a division of the Albuquerque Museum, invites the community to experience its 2026 season of public programs, heritage arts workshops, festivals, open houses, and educational opportunities. Casa San Ysidro is home to one of the most comprehensive collections of New Mexican art and furnishings in existence. Located in Corrales, the historic property features programming, exhibitions, tours, and educational experiences centered on New Mexico history, material culture, and traditional arts.

“Casa San Ysidro offers a meaningful way to connect with New Mexico,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “It celebrates our fascinating history in a setting that brings the past right to us.”

The 2026 season includes free Second Saturday programs from 1 to 3 p.m., featuring an April talk on the New Native Deal and Navajo Code Talkers with Shawn Price, a June embossed tin foil ornament workshop, a summer open house on July 11, a Nuevo México colcha workshop in August, an immersive “Time Travel” living history program in October, and a conservation-focused presentation in November on the restoration of an 1890s tin nicho.

Casa San Ysidro will also offer its Heritage Spinning and Weaving series on select Saturdays throughout the year. These classes, offered with the price of admission, explore fiber preparation, spinning, natural dyeing, indigo, fiber products, weaving and colcha traditions. Registration is available online.

Annual community celebrations return in 2026 with Heritage Day on May 23, Harvest Festival on September 26 and 27, and Noche de Luces on December 5. These free events highlight traditional New Mexican arts, music, food, and cultural practices while welcoming visitors to engage directly with artists, performers and heritage demonstrators.

For those interested in deeper involvement, Casa San Ysidro will host free Museum Guide Training sessions in April for prospective docents. The three-session series will cover the history of the property, interpretation techniques, school tours, programming, and volunteer opportunities.

Blacksmith Basics, a hands-on series offered in partnership with UNM Continuing Education, will also return on select dates in April, June, October, and November. Registration is required through UNM Continuing Education.

Admission and registration details vary by program. For complete event information, schedules, and registration links, visit Casa San Ysidro’s website
