Route 66 Summerfest returns in a special Centennial edition, reimagined to mark 100 years of the Mother Road with a lively, mile-long celebration in Nob Hill on Saturday, July 18, from 5 to 10 p.m. This year’s free event brings the full story of Route 66 to life, showcasing the sights, sounds, and spirit of each decade along Albuquerque’s iconic corridor.

“Route 66 Summerfest is the hottest centennial festivity in Albuquerque this summer,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “It has everything that makes our city special like music, art, great food, and classic cars all in one place.”

With four stages programmed to reflect the evolving soundtrack of the Mother Road, Route 66 Summerfest invites visitors to experience nearly a century of music in one evening. Headlining the Main Stage, presented by Legends Theater at Route 66 Casino Hotel, is The Docksiders – Yacht Rock Experience, a high-energy tribute to the smooth sounds of the 1970s and 80s.

Led by three-time Grammy nominee Kevin Sucher, the Las Vegas-based ensemble recreates the soft rock era with hits inspired by artists like Michael McDonald, Olivia Newton-John, Hall & Oates, Christopher Cross, and Air Supply, bringing a nostalgic, danceable finale to the night.

New Mexico Jazz Festival Stage (1940s-1950s)

East Stage (1920s-1930s)

  • 5-6 p.m. – Entourage Jazz
  • 6:20-7:30 p.m. – Le Chat Lunatique
  • 7:50-9 p.m. – Burque Jazz Bandits

In tribute to a century of travel along Central Avenue, Route 66 Summerfest will feature 100 classic and custom cars from around the region. Each vehicle reflects a different era of the highway’s history, creating a rolling timeline of American car culture.

Food is a central part of the Route 66 experience, and this year’s event delivers with 14 food trucks offering signature themed menu items. Guests can enjoy nostalgic favorites like green chile cheeseburgers and root beer floats alongside creative offerings such as Duke City melts, cheesy bacon fries, New Mexico mocha with Hatch red chile, chile relleno egg rolls, Route 66 donuts, and green chile lemonade.

Nob Hill’s local businesses will be joined by 30 artisan vendors offering handcrafted goods inspired by Route 66. From custom jewelry and apparel to soaps, pins, and collectibles, this is an opportunity to support local makers and take home a piece of the centennial celebration.

Route 66 Summerfest brings the road trip experience to life for younger visitors with free, family-friendly activities. Kids can enjoy face painting, a climbing wall, inflatable games, and more.
