The City of Albuquerque’s Department of Arts & Culture is partnering with Tour ABQ to launch the Route 66 Remixed Tour, a new multimedia experience celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66 through art, culture, and storytelling. The experience blends rich history and contemporary creativity with several Route 66 Remixed features.

Riders will cruise through town and uncover layers of the Mother Road’s past while seeing how local artists and creatives reimagined Route 66 in celebration of its centennial. From legendary landmarks to hidden gems, the experience highlights the people, places, and culture that defined the highway.

Route 66 Remixed celebrates Albuquerque’s history while showcasing the creativity and innovation of our city today,” said Arts & Culture Director Dr. Shelle Sanchez. “This tour lets people experience a concentration of Remixed stops in an authentically Albuquerque way with Tour ABQ.”

The two-hour trip leaves from historic Old Town aboard the open-air Tour ABQ Trolley and travels along Central with stops and storytelling focused on the creative corridor. The first Route 66 Remixed Tour takes place Saturday, May 30, from 2-4 p.m. The full season schedule and tickets are posted at tourabq.com. Tickets range from $30-45.

Passengers can expect vibrant visuals, engaging narration, and a fresh perspective on a road that continues to evolve. The tour offers an opportunity to experience the past, present, and future of the Mother Road, remixed.

“We are honored to partner with the City of Albuquerque to show off an attraction that has drawn visitors to us from around the world for a century, historic Route 66,” said Tour ABQ Co-Founder Mike Silva. “We look forward to celebrating the 100th anniversary and sharing the Mother Road with passengers on the Route 66 Remixed Tour all season long.”

“We started this company in 2009 with the goal to show off Albuquerque,” said Tour ABQ Co-Founder Jesse Herron. “We wanted to be the guys that provided a front row seat to locals and visitors alike to all that makes our city such an amazing and beautiful place.”

From Singing Arrow open space to Nine Mile Hill, Route 66 Remixed transforms the city’s 18-mile stretch of the Mother Road into an open gallery that celebrates culture, community, and contemporary creativity with large-scale murals, sculptures, and augmented reality activations.
