Albuquerque Invited to Celebrate Together at Freedom 4th
The community is invited to Balloon Fiesta Park on Friday, July 4, from 3 to 10 p.m. for Freedom 4th, one of the City’s largest annual events. This free family-friendly celebration brings neighbors together for a lively evening of music, local food, kids’ activities, and New Mexico’s most dazzling fireworks display. Grammy-nominated country-pop artist Hunter Hayes will headline the event.
In addition to Hayes’ high-energy performance, the Freedom 4th stage will showcase a full lineup of local talent. Guests can enjoy live sets by The Danny Duran Band, La Ansiedad Norteña, and Michael Moxey & The Easy Sinners. Gates open at 3 p.m. The official Fourth of July ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. followed by Hunter Hayes at 7:45 p.m. and a fireworks finale that will light up the sky.
Families will find plenty of ways to stay entertained throughout the day. A dedicated kids’ area will offer free inflatables, rock climbing, face painting, and more. Food vendors from throughout the city will serve up local favorites like green chile cheeseburgers, corn on the cob, and refreshing snow cones.
Adults can relax in The Cantina over beer, wine, and cocktails from Albuquerque’s top breweries and distilleries. IDs are required for entry, and drinks must stay within the designated area.
“Freedom 4th is a chance for families across Albuquerque to connect, enjoy local goodness, and celebrate Independence Day safely,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “This event brings together everything we love about our city — music, community, and tradition — while making space for new memories at Balloon Fiesta Park.”
Parking is $10 per vehicle.
Two Park & Ride locations will provide free bus service to and from the celebration. The westside parking area is at the Northwest Transit Center, and the eastside parking location is at Coronado Center west of Dick’s Sporting Goods. Bus service to the event starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. Return trips to the two Park & Ride locations will begin immediately after the fireworks show.
There will also be a free bike valet provided by Esperanza Bicycle Education Center and a rideshare route where drivers can drop off and pick up passengers in the San Carlos Cemetery parking lot.
