Description
July 3rd is the annual World Seabird Day, chosen to mark the last recorded sighting of the now-extinct Great Auk in 1844. Seabirds spend their lives at sea, this group includes gulls, albatrosses, petrels, shearwaters, and many more! Collectively, they are one of the most threatened vertebrate groups in the world. Discover all you ever wanted to know about seabird diversity, the threats they face, their habitats, and what you can do to help at the Aquarium from 10 am to 2 pm. There will be a special focus on laughing gulls featuring our own resident, Bagel, as well as a bonus station on little penguins plus activities, games, and story time!
