Description
Join us every Saturday in April for special Discovery Days! Visit our tabletop Discovery Stations to learn about the great apes that live at the ABQ BioPark and the challenges facing their wild counterparts. You can also pick up some Great Ape-ril® merch, 100% of the proceeds go to great ape conservation!
See how our primate zoo babies are growing up, like Bulan the orangutan, gorillas Gila and Mashika, and Rahsia the siamang! The 2026 highlights are:
- April 4: Chimpanzees on the Ape Walk
- Human-Animal conflict focus: illegal pet trade
- April 11: Siamangs in Asia
- Human-Animal conflict focus: habitat fragmentation
- April 18: Orangutans in Asia
- Human-Animal conflict focus: palm oil farming
- April 25: Gorillas on the Ape Walk
- Human-Animal conflict focus: coltan mining
