Description
As the zoo transforms for an evening of discovery, journey through some of the continent's most fascinating habitats—from the dense rainforests of the Congo Rainforest and unique island environments of Madagascar and the Aldabra atoll, to the expansive savannas and lively watering holes that support Africa's iconic wildlife.
Designed for families of all ages, this interactive evening will feature hands-on activities, animal encounters, educational stations, games, crafts, and opportunities to learn about remarkable species such as gorillas, lemurs, giant tortoises, hippos, giraffes, zebras, and more! You'll discover how animals adapt to their environments, how ecosystems are connected, and why conservation efforts are essential to protecting wildlife around the world.
You can be directly involved with conservation efforts! Bring old cell phones, tablets, and smart watches with you for recycling. The ABQ BioPark is a participating member of the Gorillas on the Line campaign, which helps protect wild gorillas. Many electronics contain minerals that are mined in regions near gorilla habitats in Central Africa, including the Congo Rainforest. By recycling your devices, you help reduce the demand for newly mined materials while supporting gorilla conservation and environmental sustainability. Every recycled phone is a small action that can make a big difference for wildlife and their habitats!
You'll also meet the zoo’s dedicated giraffe care team and learn how they help care for the BioPark’s giraffe herd. Giraffe branded merchandise will be available for purchase, all funds will go directly to support giraffe conservation efforts.
Please note that only the Africa area of the zoo will be open, the rest of the zoo will be closed. This event is for all ages, explore the schedule of evening tours for adults 18 and over
