Something new is always happening at the Botanic Garden! Each season brings its own rhythms to the garden. Take time to smell the roses, ride a buckboard wagon, follow a butterfly, or simply enjoy a shady bench with a lovely green view...
The PNM Butterfly Pavilion is open during the warm summer months. This popular exhibit allows visitors to walk through an indoor butterfly garden where hundreds of butterflies representing about forty species flutter around them, visiting their nectar plants. Entrance is included with admission.
Schedule:
9:00am-5:00pm Mondays-Fridays
9:00am-6:00pm, Saturdays and Sundays, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend.
The butterfly exhibit will close for the season on Wednesday, September 30, 2009.
Tours of the Japanese Garden are offered, weather permitting, on Wednesdays at 10:00am and 11:00am.
These tours are dependent on volunteer schedules. Tours can only be confirmed by calling ahead and reserving a space.
Reservations are recommended as group size is limited to 15 -20 people. Call 848-7180 to reserve a space. Tours are included with general admission to the garden.

Visit with artisans of traditional crafts in the Heritage Farm House. The New Mexico Quilters will be working on their Botanic Garden quilt and other projects, and are available to answer questions and do demonstrations.
Schedule: Second Wednesday of every month, 10:00am-2:00pm.
Gardening experts, including the Albuquerque Area Extension master Gardeners, share tips, advice and general information about growing plants in Albuquerque at the "Ask a Gardener" table in the central plaza. For more information, please call (505) 848-7180.
