World Refugee Day 2024

World Refugee Day is an international day designated by the United Nations to honor refugees around the globe. It falls each year on June 20 and celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution. World Refugee Day is an occasion to build empathy and understanding for their plight and to recognize their resilience in rebuilding their lives.

TITLE: World Refugee Day in Albuquerque 2024

DATE: Saturday, June 22nd, 2024

TIME: 4 to 8 pm 

LOCATION: Civic Plaza (One Civic Plaza NW, Albuquerque, NM 87102)

Free event for all ages.  Activities: multicultural pavilions, resources, vendors, naturalization ceremony, performances, music, art, activities, and much more

Free parking under Civic Plaza

Organizers: Office of Equity and Inclusion at the City of Albuquerque, CABQ Arts and Culture, CABQ Civic Engagement Office, APS Newcomers and Refugee Program, Catholic Charities, Lutheran Family Services, United Voices for Newcomers Rights, UNM Hospital Community Engagement Office, Vizionz Sankofa, Umoja, Centro Savila, New Mexico Asian Family Center, Babel, and community members.
