Early Head Start (EHS) programs serve infants and toddlers under the age of 3 and pregnant women. EHS programs provide intensive, comprehensive child development and family support services to low-income families. The City of Albuquerque has been an Early Head Start grantee for over 20 years.
Learning begins at birth. The free Early Head Start child and family program offers:
- High quality care and education
- Home-based and center-based services
- Teaches parenting skills
- Home visitation
- Encourages family self-sufficiency
- Comprehensive services including referrals
- Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.
