“Blues y Mas Revisited” is the theme for Centennial Concert Series at the Route 66 Visitor Center This Saturday
Route 66 Visitor Center Concerts Celebrate the ‘Mother Road’ with extended hours and performances by New Mexico Music Hall of Fame alumni!
ALBUQUERQUE, NM — The City of Albuquerque is turning up the volume on the "Mother Road" this weekend as the Route 66 Visitor Center hosts its Fall Centennial Concert Series with "Blues y Mas Revisited.” Opening its doors to the public earlier this year in April, the Visitor Center will celebrate Balloon Fiesta week with extended operating hours, live performances by New Mexico Music Hall of Fame alumni, local shopping, food, and a brand-new photography exhibition.
"Route 66 has always been the cultural heartbeat of Albuquerque, and there is no better time to celebrate the Mother Road than during Balloon Fiesta week," said City Council President Klarissa J. Peña. "The West Route 66 Visitor Center is proud to host these incredible New Mexico Music Hall of Fame alumni. We invite locals and visitors alike to come down after the balloons land, enjoy the live music, and experience the vibrant history of Albuquerque."
To accommodate the influx of visitors and locals looking to keep the fun going after the morning balloon ascensions, the Visitor Center will operate with expanded hours from Saturday, October 3, through Saturday, October 10, remaining open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

Saturday, October 3: Fall Centennial Concert Series: Blues Y Mas Revisited (12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
Sunday, October 4: Fall Centennial Concert Series featuring The Country Show (12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
Monday, October 5 – Friday, October 9: Daily service of Mexican-style coffee provided by The Bean coffee truck.
Saturday, October 10: Fall Centennial Concert Series featuring Funk, Soul, and Old School (12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
Throughout the weekend performances, Metal the Brand will host a pop-up gift shop on-site, offering unique Albuquerque apparel and goods to fulfill all local shopping needs – and those early holiday gifts!
The West Route 66 Visitor Center is located at 12300 Central SW, Albuquerque, NM 87121. Admission is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.
