Organized by The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards were established in 1923 to encourage, foster and reward creativity in our nation’s classrooms. It is the largest, longest- running and most prestigious student recognition program in America. Each year, students in grades 7-12 have the opportunity to participate by submitting original artwork and writing. The New Mexico Scholastic Art Awards Recognition Ceremony celebrates students and their award-winning artwork from across New Mexico and El Paso.
This event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required, just show up and show your support! To see the award-winning artwork, visit the Orpheum Community Hub, the exhibition runs from February 6 to February 28, 2026.
For last names A-L the ceremony begins at 5 pm. Doors open at 4:30 pm.
For last names M-Z the ceremony begins at 6:30 pm. Doors open at 6 pm.
