This summer, the BioPark Concerts are getting wild. Introducing a newly revamped Zoo Music series packed with more music, more learning, more activities, and more fun for the entire family! In addition to a touring band on the Bandshell, each evening features a unique theme, bringing different habitats to life with live local music, up-close chats with animal care teams, and interactive discovery stations. It’s not just a concert, it’s a Zoo experience like never before.

Perfect Evenings for a Picnic

Pack your blanket, grab your favorite people, and get ready for a night that’s anything but ordinary. Picture live music filling the air, up-close animal encounters, and easygoing conversations about caring for our planet, all while you kick back on the grass with a delicious picnic.

Bring your own feast, whether homemade or carried-out from a favorite local restaurant, or treat yourself to tasty bites from around the Zoo. Grab a BioPark cheeseburger, loaded fries, margarita pizza, or nacho supreme at the Cottonwood Café. Cones will be scooping up all of your favorite ice cream flavors, while the Carousel Stand keeps things fun with dirty sodas and popcorn. Get there early to snag a fan-favorite smash burger and ice cream float from Café Chill.

For the grown-ups, sip, relax, and groove. Each evening features plenty of bar options, plus a must-try Spirited Fruit Cocktail Bar with a choice of watermelon, strawberries, grapes, or pineapple muddled and topped with a spirit for the ultimate refreshing treat.

Make the most of your evening as the entire Zoo will be open for you to wonder, explore, and visit your favorite animals all the way until 8 pm.

Note: Penguin Chill will be closed as the penguins have an Antarctic bedtime.

Friday, June 5 – Eddie 9V - Featuring Asia

The ABQ BioPark Zoo opens its Zoo Music concert series with a live performance by Eddie 9V. His signature mix of Southern soul, blues, rock, and funk creates the perfect soundtrack for a summer evening. Eddie 9V will take the Bandshell Stage at 7 pm.

Step into adventure as you explore the evening’s featured habitat: Asia! This immersive experience invites you to wander through stunning wildlife exhibits and hands-on discovery stations, where you can learn more about incredible animals like orangutans, snow leopards, Malayan tigers, and Asian elephants.

Catch exciting animal care team chats and watch animal training sessions up close as it’s your chance to see these amazing creatures in action! Then grab an activity chart and become an explorer for the night, searching for hidden animal statues throughout Asia. And don’t forget to move to the music as a local band brings the whole experience to life.

Friday, June 29 – Amelia Day - Featuring The Americas

Zoo Music brings another lively summer night with music from Amelia Day. Day is a musical jack-of-all-trades. Standing at the intersection of folk, rock, and pop, she blends heartfelt storytelling, raw delivery, and unforgettable melodies into music that feels both fresh and familiar. Born and raised in Washington, she is looking forward to bringing her energetic performance to the Bandshell Stage. Get ready to dance as she takes the stage at 7 pm.

Take a walk on the wild side and explore the featured area: The Americas. This evening is all about our feathered friends, from powerful hawks and mysterious owls to majestic condors, clever parrots, and cheerful songbirds filling the air with sound.

Then take a trip to Australia and step into the Lorikeet Experience, where these playful, curious birds surround you for a truly immersive adventure. Slow things down with live music from a local artist as you stroll through the habitat, soaking in the sights, sounds, and rhythms of the night.

Friday, July 10 – Holy Roller - Featuring Running Wild

Zoo Music gets thrilling with country, Americana, and Southern rock from Holy Roller. This Richmond, Virginia based group has been dominating the east coast and will be grooving the Bandshell Stage at 7 pm.  Their powerful, riff-driven sound sets the stage for an exciting summer night.

Venture into the newly reopened Running Wildthe featured area of the night and your gateway to adventure!  Discover exciting new additions like bobcats, coatis, and fennec foxes, plus an expanded space for the speedy and spotted cheetahs.

Get hands-on at interactive discovery stations, where you’ll uncover the secrets of camouflage and how these incredible animals have adapted over time to blend into their surroundings. Don’t miss the action: join animal care chats and watch training sessions featuring some of the Zoo’s most awe-inspiring residents, including the jaguar, Andean bear, polar bear, mountain lions, and snow leopard.

As you arrive at Running Wild, you’ll be welcomed by the warm, feel-good Americana sounds of local band Southpaw Duo, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable evening.

Friday, July 24 – Taimane - Featuring Reptiles

The final Zoo Music of the summer will be sure to entertain with a performance by Taimane, a hapa Sāmoan artist (part indigenous Sāmoan and part Caucasian) born and raised in Hawai‘i. She has established herself as an artist-to-watch as a virtuoso and songwriter best known for her fierce and inventive style of playing the ukulele. From Bach to Led Zeppelin, flamenco infernos to tribal hymns, Taimane’s artistic vision is boundless. She will rock her ukulele at 7 pm.

Slither into adventure as this evening’s featured area is the Reptile Building! Check out the new murals, then get ready for some seriously jaw-dropping moments from exciting reptile feedings to training sessions and animal care team chats. Dive into discovery stations and uncover the fascinating world of snakes, lizards, turtles, tortoises, alligators, and crocodiles. There’s something new to learn at every turn.

As you explore the Reptiles, let the cool sounds of blues and rock from local band Secret 7 Duo set the vibe for a night that’s equal parts wild and unforgettable.

Zoo Music Venue Information

Prohibited Items: glass containers, weapons of any kind, alcohol, pop up tents, canopies, flower bouquets, flower petals, balloons, sports equipment, and piñatas are not allowed. Pets are not allowed at the ABQ BioPark; only qualified service animals may enter.
