Tribute Area

In the 2011 General Obligation Bond Program, the Citizens of Albuquerque approved $500,000 for the development of this Tribute Area.  Along with an $85,000 contribution by the Cultural Services Department and an additional $250,000 donation by The Sandia Peak Ski and Sandia Peak Tram Companies in 2012, Phase One of the four acre park has been developed (pictured right).

Displaying a strong graphic design visible from the air, the space provides a framework for future improvements including the development of a balloon demonstration area.

The developing Tribute Area will connect the  Anderson-Abruzzo International Balloon Museum with the multi-use Golf and Event Center by creating an inviting space for families to gather for education and outdoor entertainment.

With your support, the completed Tribute Area will provide an outdoor space for the remembrance and celebration of courageous balloonists.
