PD apprehends 72 offenders, 25 DWI arrests in 45th Anti-Crime Operation

Operation results in 4 firearms recovered, 9 stolen vehicle and 282 moving citations.

APD completed its 45th city-wide Anti-Crime Operation.  The operation resulted in the arrest of an additional 72 offenders, bringing the total number of individuals arrested to 2,149 since the operations began in August 2020.

The Anti-Crime Operation was conducted June 17, 2021, through June 23, 2021. Officers and detectives from the Field Services Bureau, Investigative Bureau and Special Operations Bureau were all involved in this initiative.

A total of 69 outstanding warrants were cleared, and 36 new felony arrests were made. 282 moving citations were issued, 4 firearms, 9 stolen vehicles were recovered and 25 DWI arrests were made.

Since the beginning of the Anti-Crime Operations, 459 firearms have been recovered and 237 stolen vehicles have been recovered.

Not all offenders are booked into MDC. Some are arrested by our law enforcement partners and taken into federal custody, depending on their charges.
