APD Makes Arrests Following Assault on Employees at Local Restaurant

ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department arrested two individuals following an incident that occurred on March 31, 2022 at the Fuddruckers at the Coronado Mall.
Shortly before 4:00 on March 31st, officers were called to the Fuddruckers at the Coronado Mall along Louisiana Blvd. for an altercation with two employees at the business. Officers learned that approximately six individuals with two handguns engaged in a battery on the two workers at the restaurant.
An employee stated that after they denied giving the group change as it’s against their policy, the individuals began to physically fight him. He stated they punched him in his head and abdomen. At some point he stated two males pulled out weapons. The employee stated the males pointed the guns at him and then struck him in his head multiple times with the firearms.
The individuals exited the mall and fired at a white SUV shattering the back window. There were no injuries reported by the occupants of the vehicle. Five of the six individuals were detained after fleeing to Target. Four of the five subjects were juveniles.
Michael Anthony Ross 3/24/2004, along with a juvenile were identified as the two individuals pointing firearms and using them in the assault.
Two firearms were recovered, and Ross and the juvenile were arrested. Ross has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Battery and booked into MDC. Three other individuals involved were summoned for battery.
