APD Arrests Alleged Serial Armed Robbery Offender

ALBUQUERQUE – The Albuquerque Police Department has arrested Jeffrey Robinson, 28, for multiple armed robberies around the city.

 

On February 18, 2021 Robinson was arrested for Receiving or Transferring a motor vehicle. He also had a Probation Violation warrant and was sentenced to one year at Central New Mexico Correctional Facility. During his incarceration, it was learned that Mr. Robinson was involved in several armed robberies in the Foothills area command. His release date was scheduled for Feb 23, 2022. The cases Robinson was responsible for were presented to the United States Attorney’s Office and it was agreed that federal charges would be filed as his release date approached. 

 

Robinson was released two months early, on December 20, 2021. CNM Detention Center did not notify robbery detectives of Robinson’s release. After his release, Robinson committed two additional robberies, one at a Wireless store and the second at a Circle K. Once learning of the additional robberies committed by Robinson after he was released two months early, Armed robbery detective prepared a federal arrest warrant for Robinson for six counts of Hobbs Act Robbery Charges, the warrant was signed and filed. 

 

Robinson’s whereabouts were unknown after the warrant was issued however on April 21,  he was arrested by APD Foothills officers for aggravated assault and shoplifting charges. Armed robbery unit was notified of his arrest and arrived at the Foothills Substation in an attempt to interview him, however due to his admission of consuming fentanyl, detectives did not attempt an interview at the time. He will be booked on his new stateside charges filed by APD Foothills PRT officers as well as his federal warrant. Once the state charges are resolved, robbery FBI TFO detectives will take Robinson into federal custody and book him in with the Marshal’s at the Federal Court House.

February 15, 2021 @ Quick Track at 12524 Central Ave.

February 16, 2021 @ Subway at 13100 Central Ave.

February 17, 2021 @ Stripes Burritos at 801 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE

December 30, 2021 @ Cricket Wireless at 1415 Eubank Blvd. NE

December 31, 2021 @ Circle K at 900 Juan Tabo Blvd. NE
