Animal Welfare Shelters Closed for Independence Day
Admissions and reclaims will operate
ALBUQUERQUE – The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) Eastside and Westside shelters will be closed on Friday, July 4, except for admissions and reclaims, which will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Should pets get lost and end up at either shelter, AWD wants to expedite the process of returning them to their owners. If your pet is already spayed or neutered, they will be returned to you free of charge. All you have to do is pick them up at the shelter.
Please note: Credit cards will not be accepted for reclaims that require a fee on this day.
The shelters will resume normal operations on Saturday, July 5.
