Adopt an Artist Companion

Description
The City Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department is pleased to be hosting Adopt an Artist Companion, Saturday, April 29 through Sunday, April 30. The adoption fee is waived for all pets. Each adoption will include spay or neuter, a microchip and vaccinations. For dogs, you will receive one free training class.
Animal Welfare Department companion pets have so many skills, so many talents, and so many things to offer a loving family. During the month of April, our shelter pets have been creating their own individual paw paintings. These works are currently hanging up in our kennels. When you adopt a pet artist, its artwork will go with you.
Local artists with a passion for helping animals have combined their talents with shelter pets’ talent to create a one of a kind paw-print canvas wall art. Their paintings will be exhibited and for sale at the East Side and West Side shelter lobbies during the adoption event. All proceeds will go to help the shelter pets.
There are over six hundred pet artists that are committed to their quest, and that is to be adopted. We need your help to make it all happen, by supporting a strong art community and saving a life by adopting a pet.
