Mayor's Youth Advisory Council Monthly Meeting

This is the monthly meeting of the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council. Our July meeting will feature our officer elections and we will decide on the meeting times/logistics for our FY23 youth council members. Meetings are open to the public. Public comments are requested in advance and participation will be moderated by the board. Attendees are expected to be respectful, observe group norms, and ensure the space remains conducive to leadership by and for the youth participating in this board.

Description

The Mayor’s Youth Advisory Council works to provide the Mayor’s office with the youth perspective on city issues and to foster a sense of community in order to aid in the development and betterment of Albuquerque. This group meets monthly. The July Agenda is copied below.

1. Call to Order 
 
Board meeting will be held in person and via Zoom video conference. Viewing and Listening: Members of the public will have the ability to attend in person, and to view, speak and/or listen to the meeting through Zoom which can be accessed from most smartphones, tablets, or computers. See instructions below.

Attendees are encouraged to park in the structure below Civic Plaza, which is accessible from Marquette or Tijeras. Parking can be validated for attendees to park conveniently at no cost. Please bring your parking ticket to the 11th floor front-desk staff for validation.

2. Roll Call
 
Attendance will be noted by the board coordinator throughout the meeting and will be available in meeting minutes when posted. Attendees and Board members are encouraged to enter their name, if attending via the Zoom link. Board members attending by phone will be asked to clarify their identity for record-keeping purposes. There is no provision in the Open Meetings Act for remote board attendance, so video should only be used when in-person attendance is not possible.

• Written Comments
The Board will accept public comments on the meeting’s specific agenda items in written form via email through 5:00pm on the day of the meeting. Comments should be sent via email to: [email protected]. These comments will be incorporated in the meeting minutes for board review. 
• In-Person Comments
In-person public comments can be made by members of the public during the public comment period. During the public comments block, residents will be greeted and asked if they would like to contribute public comments. The board coordinator will add a record of attendees and comments made in the meeting minutes. The board requests that comments be limited to about 2 minutes.

8. Next Meeting
 
The next scheduled Regular Meeting of the Board will be on Thursday, February 3rd at 11:00am. The meeting will be held over in person and over Zoom in accordance with current public health guidelines. The meeting location and parking instructions will remain the same. As we are revisiting date/time Zoom URL, call-in information, and meeting ID number may change and will be posted with the next Agenda. Updated Zoom information will be provided to the board directly.
