Station 12 received a new paramedic rescue truck and fire engine to replace older fire apparatus. Engine 12 is the 2nd busiest Engine in the City responding to more than 2,670 calls a year while Rescue 12 is the busiest Rescue, responding to more than 3,900 calls a year.

Fire Station 8 located at 1400 Indian View NE will also be receiving a new Paramedic Rescue Truck to replace an older reserve unit. A Paramedic Rescue was added to Station 8’s fleet on January 29th 2011 and now the two person Paramedic crew will have a new vehicle to provide residents an even faster response time.

The new Engine 12 was purchased from Seagrave Fire Apparatus. Seagrave fire trucks are known to be dependable, have lower maintenance costs, and are expected to have higher in-service time than the previous manufacturer used by AFD. Three other Seagrave fire engines will be placed into service within the next 30 days.
